04) UI

Your UI (User Interface) is what’s on screen. These are your tools for interacting with your ship, other players and the EVE Online Universe.

This section covers only the basics of the UI, I advise you familiarise yourself  with the UI whilst in-game, as hotkeys are few and far between in this game, so knowing where and what to click when is very important.

A more detailed guide of the UI can be found here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/User_interface

In-Space UI

1) Your ship.

2) Chat Window (Chat Channels).

3) Quick-Click Area.

4) Ship Status Panel.

5) Ship Modules.

6) Overview Scanner.

7) Drones Panel (Only useful once player has researched Drones).

8) NPC Ship.

9) Current Location

10) Neocom Panel

11) EVE Time (GMT +0)

There are several windows not featured here which you will encounter whilst playing.  Most of these are relatively easy to understand, just take your time to get to know them and play around with what you can do with them.

The right-click menu (not featured in the above image) is also very important. Again, take the time to familiarise yourself with the options in the menu. You will find though, that sometimes it is faster using the available buttons on-screen than using the right-click menu.

In-Station UI

As you can see, the in-station UI is very similar to the in-space UI, except that a few things are missing and the overview on the right-hand side has been replaced with Station Services and Station Entities.

Note that not all stations are equipped with the same services, some may have more and some may have less.
